It’s all so broken
and all I can do
is write
not much of a band-aid
my mind’s eye sees me
fly through the sky
to you
I soar down hospital corridors
becoming very small
I snuggle on your shoulder
and whisper in your ear
like the fairy of light...
“Live,” I say, “Breathe in what you already know…
…deep in your soul…”
under the broken parts
the parts held together by scotch tape and string
you know that life breathes and glows in golden colors around you
waiting for your artist’s touch
that no one but you
can use to whisper warm life into each stroke
we float in the otherworld
where I show you
the fields full of sunbeams
and happy warm kitty paws
all together
It’s not time
I’m not ready
WILL your heart to beat
nourish body, soul and spirit
I need you keep to here
so you can whisper in my ear
if the pain of loveache
whithers me away
the artist’s soul
knows each other’s pain
through desert night sky
I plea with the Great Spirit
to join my half strength
with yours
so we both
breathe in
something new
and WILL hearts to beat
