home again (angel)

new big tree
smaller than last

and surrounded by many
my big tree
not a stand alone
in city lights and sounds
is still my companion view
as I look through my bedroom window
into purple sunset sky

home is transitional
a new vision
not planned ahead
but created with
every soft kiss
every sunday morning pancake
that used to only belong to others

even in harsh words
home is formed
they hash out the structure
cement foundations
what is mine
what is his
what is ours
how we breathe
as one

my small hand
caresses the small of my belly
small angel
you lived in me only briefly
my body your home
but showed me the end of
the rainbow…
in that mist on that fall day…
you took me there
brought light and direction
to my new home
even if the path should fork
and a new vision should build

I always thought
home was a structure
home is fluid
breathes like air
flows like blood
changes like mood
but love’s foundation
of self
of life
is the way to follow
