uncle
hefty elephant sits on chest
heart slams hard to fight the weight
of this burden
beating faster
with each short, shallow breath
say uncle
I bite my lip and shake my head
say uncle!
hot tears run down my cheeks
stinging my face
with their salt...and anger...and frustration
I bite my lip harder in determination
blood runs down my chin
each minute I don't give into
this fat, heavy, invasive bastard
is one I win
bloody and bruised
I choose always to fight
but....he usually wins a few rounds
