autumn

autumn leaves
betray the still summer skies
pink and gold tipped trees
wear green full skirts
summer heat lingers
on my skin
thoughts of you
much deeper
season not ready
to let go of certain warm embrace
autumn intrudes
on the soft place
where all can be the same
in a daydream
crisp fall nights
sunset leaves drifting
my favorite time
and time to let go
of what was
but like resistant tree
I still hold on
to summer
